2011 DAVITA SURVEYS

The following surveys have been received from the California Department of Public Health. For comments on these surveys, please email RMiklesRN@aol.com

Note:  We do not know what type of complaints were filed, or what type of 'self-reported events' facilities reported to the state that were investigated. This is seen in those surveys with 'no deficiencies' that were for the aforementioned. 

Comment: It would be interesting to know exactly what complaints were filed with the state and what 'self-reported events' were reported. What happened to patients that caused the facility to report such. What type of complaints did patients have. We do know that patients experience bullying from staff, for a variety of reasons, however this is difficult to substantiate. 

 Comment:  This facility opened it doors to patients two years ago (May 2009). Of course, at that time, when inspected, the facility census was not over 50, as it was during this inspection. These survey findings, clearly show the lack of training/education, unit-level supervision and lack of adherence to facility policies and procedures.  When a facility has a Condition NOT met, as this facility, in the area of  REUSE, we question, 'How can patients receive safe care?" Additionally, obvious that staff are not following facility policies and procedures for infection control. This is UNACCEPTABLE for a 'new' facility to have these types of deficiencies cited.
